Super Eagles Striker Sylvester Igboun Exposes Generated Quotes By National Daily Journalist Esther Egbe
Published: February 02, 2016
FC Ufa striker Sylvester Igboun has distanced himself from a malicious report by a Nigerian newspaper in which he criticized the Nigeria Football Federation for owing national team players.
The FC Ebedei product admitted that he granted an interview to the erring journalist but was not quizzed on that particular topic and the quotes were generated.
Esther Egbe, a sports writer with National Daily newspaper, has acknowledged her error but it is taking her ages to correct the mistake, so Igboun has decided to set the record straight.
“I never said anything like that; I was surprised when I saw the story and I contacted the girl who wrote the story immediately,”Igboun explained to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“She begged and promised me that she will change the story but the story got me angry and I want to correct the impression.
“I know nothing about what she wrote about me and I have promised to expose her.”
The Super Eagles striker is presently in Cyprus with FC Ufa for winter training ahead of the resumption of the Russian Premier League in the first week of March.
