Eddy Onazi Defends Racist Lazio Fans
Published: February 04, 2016
Lazio’s Nigeria international Eddy Onazi has defended the supporters of the Biancoceleste after racist chanting directed at defender Kalidou Koulibaly during Wednesday night’s 2-0 loss to Napoli.
The referee had to suspend the game in the 68th minute, for about three minutes, following repeated booing from Lazio fans whenever the Senegal international touched the ball.
“When I’m playing I don’t hear what’s being said because I’m concentrated on my game,” Onazi was quoted as saying by Lalaziosiamonoi.it .
“I do not listen to the fans. Fans of Lazio racist ? impossible .”
Onazi has featured 14 times for Lazio in all competitions this season and went the distance against Napoli.
