Exclusive: Is Abia Warriors CEO Emeka Inyama Trying To Dupe Abia State Goverment Of Chikatara $700,000 Transfer Fees?
Published: February 05, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Nigeria Professional Football League side Abia Warriors used an offer from Esperance as a bargaining chip during negotiations with Wydad Casablanca over the transfer of Chisom Chikatara.
As broken by this website on January 20, it is all but confirmed that the Super Eagles rising star will be heading to Wydad Casablanca in the summer on a three-year contract.
An agent who was involved in negotiations told allnigeriasoccer.com : “Abia Warriors initially wanted to sell Chisom Chikatara to Esperance for $100,000 but they were asked why they should sell a national team player for that amount.
“They went back to Esperance and lied that Wydad Casablanca had made a $1 million offer for Chikatara, so Esperance upped their offer to $500,000.
“The new offer from Esperance was revealed to Wydad and at the end of negotiations the Moroccan club agreed to pay $700,000.”
It has been suggested by our source that Abia Warriors are now strongly denying the amount quoted by allnigeriasoccer.com because the Chairman of the club, Emeka Inyama, and his accomplice Johnny Ogbah have plans to remit less than the $700,000 transfer fees to the Abia State Government and pocket the balance.
