Super-Sub Kelechi Iheanacho Fails To Save City From Surprise Defeat Vs Leicester City
Published: February 06, 2016
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho suited up for the 16th time in the English Premier League on Saturday afternoon but could not prevent Manchester City from losing 3-1 to table-toppers Leicester City at the Etihad.
With the homers struggling in attack, manager Manuel Pellegrini introduced the Nigeria international seven minutes out of intermission.
Defender Robert Huth opened scoring for The Foxes after only three minutes before Algerian Riyad Mahrez doubled their advantage with a brilliant finish in the 48th minute.
On the hour mark, Huth grabbed his second of the game before Aguero netted in the 89th minute to give City faint hope of a comeback.
Of the 8 goals Iheanacho has bagged this season, only two were scored in the Premier League, against Crystal Palace and Swansea City.
