Emenike Comes Closest To Scoring For West Ham On Debut
Published: February 07, 2016
Emmanuel Emenike made his official debut for West Ham in their 1-0 loss to Southampton on game week 25 in the English Premier League on Saturday.
The Hammers have agreed terms with the former Nigeria international until the end of this season and the striker trained on Thursday for the first time with his new teammates.
The Fenerbahce loanee got his baptism of fire in the Premier League in the 73rd minute when West Ham manager Slaven Bilic introduced him as a substitute.
A few minutes after entering the game, Emenike would have restored parity for West Ham but his near-post header off a cross by Valencia narrowly missed target.
West Ham and Emenike will be back in action on Tuesday when they face Liverpool in the FA Cup.
