Abiola Dauda Has Kind Words For Heart of Midlothian Fans After Debut
Published: February 08, 2016
Heart of Midlothian new striker Abiola Dauda was pleased to play his first competitive match for the Scottish Premiership club in their 2-2 draw with Hibernian in the Cup on Sunday.
With the scoreboard reading 2-2, the Vitesse loanee would have won the tie for The Jam Tarts, but his glancing header went past the post.
“The game was a typical derby game with a lot of fight but we played a good first half but second half wasn’t good enough from us,” Abiola Dauda said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Yes, I got a good reception from the fans and the atmosphere was great to play.”
With eight yellow cards issued by referee Craig Thomson, Dauda, who has represented clubs in Sweden and Serbia, admitted that he was aware of the physical nature of Scottish football before he joined Hearts.
“It is physical here while in Holland it is more technical. The football here is more or less like in Sweden so there will be no problem to settle in well, ” the Hearts number 25 added.
All things being equal, Abiola Dauda will make his league debut on Wednesday against Ross County at Victoria Park Dingwall.
