Kelechi Iheanacho Is Manchester City Second Best Player For January
Published: February 09, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho has missed out on Manchester City’s Etihad Player of the Month Award for January, with Argentina star Sergio Aguero picking up the honours.
The Nigeria international was shortlisted for the award alongside Aguero and ex-Arsenal fullback Bacary Sagna.
A poll showed that Iheanacho garnered half of Sergio Aguero’s votes and France international Sagna finished in third position.
January was a month to remember for the Taye Academy graduate, with the teenager netting his first professional hat-trick in City’s 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
Kelechi Iheanacho also struck in the defeat of Norwich City in the Cup and was involved in two games in the Premier League.
