Aston Villa Coach Showers Praise On Gabby Agbonlahor
Published: February 13, 2016
Aston Villa coach Remi Garde is banking on Anglo-Nigerian striker Gabby Agbonlahor to save their season.
Going into Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool, the Lions are last in the standings, eight points from safety, but have lost only one of their last five matches in the top-flight.
Since the arrival of the Frenchman at Villa Park, Agbonlahor has featured only three times in the Premier League as he was plagued by injuries.
“Gabby has different qualities to Jordan Ayew, Libor Kozak and Rudy Gestede. They are all different players. For sure, Gabby is the one who is the most attracted by the goal,” said Remi Garde to the club’s official webpage.
“The way he runs inside the pitch is different from the other players.
“He likes to go behind the defensive line, which is very difficult to defend against because he stretches the opponent and sometimes he receives the ball because he moves well. ”
Agbonlahor, 29, has been on the books of Aston Villa for the past two decades, rising through the ranks before he was handed his first-team debut on 18 March 2006 .
