CBF Confirms Dream Team Will Face Brazil On March 24; Fatai Amao To Coach U23s
The Confederacao Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) has confirmed that the Brazil U23s will take on Nigeria in a high-profile friendly at Cariacica, Vitoria, Espirito Santo on Thursday, March 24.<br /><br />The Dream Team VI technical crew are taking the game against the South Americans as an important step in their preparations for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.<br /><br />While a maximum of three players above the age limit can feature in the tournament, all the 30 players called up by Samson Siasia for the tuneup game are Under-23 players, including Victor Osimhen who celebrated his 17th birthday last December.<br /><br />Both countries have met three times in previous editions of the Olympic Games, with Nigeria defeating their illustrious opponents 4-3 in the last encounter, a semifinal game at Atlanta 1996.<br /><br />In 1988, Nigeria struggled against the South American powerhouse, losing 4-0 while they drew 3-3 in 1968.<br /><br />The substantive coach of the Dream Team Samson Siasia has moved up to the Super Eagles for the time being, so Fatai Amao will lead his troops to Brazil.<br />
