Exclusive: Super Eagles Striker Tunde Adeniji Move To Levski Sofia Collapses
Published: February 29, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Tunde Adeniji’s switch to Levski Sofia has collapsed as a result of complications that arose from the Bulgarian club dealing with Sunshine Stars through an intermediary.
The Super Eagle is yet to make his debut for Levski Sofia because Sunshine Stars did not authorize the release of his International Transfer Certificate through the Nigeria Football Federation.
With the winter transfer market closing for business in Bulgaria on Monday, February 29, it means Levski Sofia can’t register the striker except they get his ITC approved extraordinarily by Fifa and the Bulgarian club won’t have a case if they did not file before deadline day.
It is understood that the 26-time Bulgarian champions did not have a direct contact with Sunshine Stars while negotiating the deal and depended on a Turkish intermediary based in London.
Sunshine Stars would have pocketed the sum of $150,000 if the move did not collapse.
The 20-year-old Adeniji has been in Bulgaria for the past two weeks after penning a three-year contract with The Blues.
