Obomate Blow For Rivers United
Published: March 01, 2016
Obomate Frederick will miss Rivers United’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) contest against Giwa FC in Jos.
The midfielder is currently writing his 400 level, first semester Structural Analysis (three) examinations at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) and will duly sit out Wednesday’s fixture.
He feels pained but insists United will cope well enough in his absence at the Rwang Pam Stadium against the Jos club.
“I felt very bad when I realized that I would not be able play (against Giwa FC) because of my exams in Port Harcourt.
“It was a similar situation in our last game (against Mountain of Fire and Miracles) in Lagos when I had to travel separately from the team (and arrived the match venue less than 24 hours to the game) because of academic duties,” the United schoolboy told Rivers United Media.
Obomate has been a force of nature this season; scoring three and providing an assist for the Port Harcourt club this season.
