MFM FC Stops Sunshine Stars

The Olukoya Boys dominated the first 15 minutes of the game as they kept Sunshine Stars at bay with the likes of Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, Shola Brossa and Onuwa Chukwuka pulling the strings from the midfield.
Former Sunshine Stars striker, Newman Musa opened scores for MFM FC in the 25th minute of play after a well worked counter play orchestrated from the midfield by Ifeanyi and Onuwa.
The visitors turned the heat on their host and were rewarded in the 38th minute when Samad Kadiri evened scores. The first half ended 1-1.
MFM FC second choice goalkeeper, Folarin Abayomi who stood in for bereaved first choice, James Aiyeyemi was rock solid in between the sticks.
He made breathtaking saves as he denied the Owena Waves several goal scoring opportunities.
The Olukoya Boys came out stronger in the second half of the nervy encounter and dominated proceedings as they mounted ceaseless pressure on the away team.
MFM head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu was spot on with his changes in the second half. Enterprising youngster, Stephen Odey came in for experienced Newman in the 72nd minute while injured Onuwa was replaced by Adekunle Adeboyega.
Forward, Chidi Akuneto made way for pacy Henry Abara. The changes paid off eventually.
With the game almost certain to end in a deserved draw for Sunshine Stars, Odey got the match winner with a sublime finish off an assist from Abara after a beautiful build up that sent Agege fans into frenzy mood.
