Samson Siasia Invites Portland Timbers Star Fanendo Adi, Aaron Samuel, Umar Aminu & Okechukwu For Egypt Games
Published: March 03, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Super Eagles interim coach, Samson Siasia, has handed a maiden invitation to Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.
Adi, 25, has been rewarded with his first-ever call up to the national team on the heels of his performance for Timbers over the course of last season, that saw him score 18 goals from 39 games.
Dream Team VI stars Azubuike Okechukwu (Yeni Malatyaspor) and Umar Aminu (Osmanlıspor) were also named to the roster that should be announced in the coming days, if not hours.
CSKA Moscow newcomer Aaron Samuel will be looking to add to his international caps after making the squad list.
Former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh ignored the physical striker for selection as a result of his preference for players who represent clubs in the top divisions in Europe.
A minimum of 20 stars based overseas have been invited for the double header against the North Africans.
