John Ogu Happy To Add Goals To His Game Since Moving To Israel

Nigeria international John Ogu has been one of the success stories at Hapoel Beer Sheva in the ongoing season and is confident that the team from the Negev region can win their first Premier League title since 1976.
Ahead of the playoffs, manager Bachar Barak’s side top the Israeli top division standings, with five points separating them from Nosa Igiebor’s Maccabi Tel Aviv.
“We are on top and we want to stay there till the end. Season is still on and now we approaching the playoffs but we just want to win every games till the end, ” said John Ogu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Ogu, who is primarily a defensive midfielder, has added goals to his game since switching to Israel from Academica in the summer of 2014, and the Flying Sport product has played down talk he has been handed an advance role up the pitch.
“We are playing a 4-1-2-3 formation and I am the one playing as a defensive midfielder and it been great adding goals to my performance from that position,” added the Hapoel Beer Sheva number 30.
The 27-year-old has been in the international wilderness for about a year, having last defended the colours of the Super Eagles against South Africa in an international friendly on March 29,2015.
