Published: March 11, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that English Premier League side Manchester United have refuted reports which claimed that they made a move for Nigeria U23 international Victor Osimhen before the striker penned a preliminary contract with Wolfsburg.
The Golden Eaglets star was on the radar of a couple of clubs in England after he shot to prominence at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup, netting ten times to emerge the Golden Boot winner.
When contacted to verify claims that Manchester United had explored the possibility of offering a contract to the Ultimate Strikers star, head of youth player recruitment , Derek Langley, revealed that the Old Trafford side were never interested in signing any of the Nigeria U17s players.
That said, it can be confirmed that Arsenal, Inter Milan, Juventus, Sporting Lisbon and RSC Anderlecht officially approached representatives of Osimhen regarding a deal before he committed his future to Wolfsburg.
Victor Osimhen has agreed to join Wolfsburg on a four-and-a-half-year deal with effect from January 2017.
