Groin Injury Rules Chelsea Loanee Omeruo Out Of AFCON Qualifiers Against Egypt
Published: March 18, 2016
Kenneth Omeruo has been ruled out of the African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Egypt due to injury, the Nigeria Football Federation has announced.
The Kasimpasa stopper is down with a groin injury which should keep him on the sidelines for the next two weeks, assuming he does not suffer an injury relapse.
“Omeruo’s injury and subsequent withdrawal from the Egypt games has been communicated to the coaches and the medics,” Dayo Enebi, Super Eagles team administrator, told thenff.com.
“The player is disappointed with his injury setback because he has been looking forward to this game with a lot of optimism.
“Expectedly, the coaches were also unhappy but they have wished him a quick recovery.”
This season, Kenneth Omeruo has recorded 18 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig and went the distance against Sivasspor on Monday.
