Revealed:Oboabona Not Injured And In Excellent Form; Served One-Match Ban Against Akhisar

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Rizespor defender Godfrey Oboabona is as fit as a fiddle and in excellent form, contrary to speculations in some quarters that he is nursing an ailment and lacking form which made him miss his team’s league game on Friday night.

For only the second time in the ongoing campaign, the Nigeria national-teamer failed to make the match day squad of Rizespor in their 1-1 draw with Akhisar Belediyespor.

Godfrey Oboabona was yellow-carded for the fourth time in thirteen matches in the 86th minute of the contest against Istanbul powerhouse Besiktas which triggered an automatic one-match suspension.

The former Sunshine Stars skipper also sat out the game week 12 tie with Osmanlispor on November 22 due to suspension, having accumulated four bookings in games against Fenerbahce,Antalyaspor,Bursaspor and Galatasaray.

Statistically, Oboabona is one of the most important players in the ranks of Rizespor as he has gone the distance in each of the 24 matches he has played in the Super Lig.

The 25-year-old is expected to link up with the Super Eagles squad this weekend ahead of their AFCON qualifiers against Egypt.
