Watford Striker Odion Ighalo Passed Fit To Face Egypt
Published: March 19, 2016
The rumours surrounding the fitness of Watford striker Odion Ighalo ended once and for all after the Nigeria international made his team’s starting line-up for the Premier League tie against Stoke City at the Vic.
For most part of this week, it had been suggested that he will not be in tip-top condition for the African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Egypt, having picked up a minor muscle injury against Arsenal last weekend.
And Watford manager Quique Sánchez Flores fueled those speculations after admitting in his pre-match comments that Ighalo will need to undergo a late fitness test ahead of the game with the Potters.
The 26-year-old frontman has passed the tests with flying colours and has been handed his 29th Premier League start in a row by the Spanish gaffer.
Ighalo has not scored in the Premier League since he hit target against Newcastle United on January 23,2016.
