Published: March 25, 2016
CSKA Moscow striker Aaron Samuel has dismissed rumours in the local media that he has suffered an injury and will not be fit enough to face Egypt in the coming hours in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Reports had claimed on Thursday that the youngster could not complete the workout after sustaining an injury.
“I have been in touch with Aaron Samuel every day since his arrival in camp, he is not injured and ready to face Egypt. The report is not true, ”Aaron Samuel’s Nigerian representative told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The 21-year-old Samuel has seven appearances under his belt for the national team, scoring against Sudan and Congo in 2015.
He has missed the last six games played by the Super Eagles, with ex-coach Sunday Oliseh preferring forwards who play in major European Leagues.
