Ikpeba Proud Of Super Eagles Performance Against Egypt, Hails Siasia
Published: March 25, 2016
Ex-Monaco striker Victor Ikpeba was proud of the performance of the Super Eagles against Egypt in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday evening.
The national team were on the brink of nicking a win until they lost concentration in the closing minutes and allowed Roma winger Mohamed Salah to snatch an equalizer.
“If these boys play with this same spirit, I am very confident that they will win in Egypt #ThankYouSuperEagles,” said Ikpeba on Twitter.
“Difficult game, but the boys did very well. We should be proud of them. And congrats to Siasia for a good job in a short time.”
Following the draw at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Nigeria remain two points behind Egypt and meet the same opponents in the reverse fixture next Tuesday.
