Dele Alli Slapped With Three-Match Ban By The FA
Published: April 29, 2016
England rising star Dele Alli will miss the rest of the season after the English FA handed him a three - match ban following his misconduct in Monday night’s 1-1 draw with West Brom at White Hart Lane.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was caught on video hitting West Bromwich Albion midfielder Claudio Yacob in the midriff in the 26th minute.
The 20-year-old Alli will miss Monday’s game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and the next two fixtures against Southampton and Newcastle United.
Alli had argued that the ban was excessive but his claim was dismissed by an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Thursday.
He played 46 matches for Spurs in all competitions in his debut season, scoring 10 goals in the Premier League.
