Barcelona Testing The Waters Regarding Summer Move For David Alaba
Published: May 11, 2016
Barcelona are interested in the acquisition of Bayern Munich’s Austrian-Nigerian wing-back David Alaba in the summer transfer market.
According to Mundo Deportivo, representatives of the La Liga champions have opened a line of communication with the Austria star over a move to the Camp Nou and enquired if he is interested in joining the team before making a bid to Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old Alaba has informed Barcelona chiefs that he will join the club if they can play him as a central midfielder, the same role he plays for the Austrian national team.
But Barça are in the market for a central defender who is capable of playing on the flank, meaning both parties have to reach a compromise.
This season, Alaba has played 44 games in total across all competitions and has netted twice.
