Adeniran, Shashoua Feature As England Are Knocked Out Of U17 Euro
The England U17s were knocked out of the UEFA European U17 Championship on Sunday at the quarterfinal stage after losing 1-0 to Spain at the Bakcell Arena, Baku. <br /><br />Head coach Steve Cooper named Fulham midfielder Dennis Adeniran in the starting line-up while the two remaining players of Nigerian descent Tolaji Bola (Arsenal) and Samuel Shashoua (Tottenham Hotspur) were on the bench.<br /><br />England dominated the second half but had no answer to Francisco García’s brilliant individual goal in the 11th minute.<br /><br />With 67 minutes gone, Shashoua replaced Dennis Adeniran and the Spurs attacking midfielder did not come close to scoring before the final whistle was blown.<br /><br />The Young Lions had beaten France and Denmark in the group stage after losing to Sweden in their opening game.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : fulhamfc.com<br />
