Exclusive: Revealed - Sporting Braga Tried For Awurum Before Transfer To Portimonense

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Portuguese Primeira Liga team Sporting Clube de Braga attempted to sign Stanley Awurum before his recent transfer to Portimonense S.C.
The 25-year-old Awurum displayed his wares for Varzim last season, scoring 14 goals in 42 matches to finish as the third highest goalscorer in the Segunda Liga.
Sporting Braga had held talks with the attacker and his camp regarding the possibility of moving to the Estádio Municipal de Braga, but the proposed deal hit a brick wall when they could not match the offer from Portimonense.
He has penned a one-year deal with Portimonense S.C, with the club having the option to extend his contract for three more seasons next summer.
In the 2015 winter transfer market, Awurum joined Varzim from Mozambican side Chibuto,where he was a household name.
