Published: June 07, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Birmingham City winger Viv Solomon-Otabor will join the Nigeria U23s at their training camp in Manchester later this month.
The London-born youngster has been allowed by the Blues hierarchy to attend the national team’s get-together but could not fly to Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, as the squad was due to travel to Seoul for the Suwon Invitational Tournament.
Viv Solomon-Otabor is in the possession of a British passport and did not have difficulties obtaining a visa to the United States, where the Nigeria U23s will train before heading to Brazil for the Olympic Games.
The 20-year-old first trained with the Dream Team VI last summer and impressed coach Samson Siasia, so much so that he was one of the foreign-based professionals considered for the Africa U23 Cup of Nations, but he did not make the trip to Senegal as a result of commitments with his club.
Solomon-Otabor played 25 times for the first team of Birmingham City during the 2015-2016 season.
