Barcelona Defender Ekpolo Joins Nigeria U23s In Abuja, Begins Training Today
Published: June 23, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Barcelona defender Godswill Ekpolo is poised to represent Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic Games having joined the Dream Team VI squad at their training camp in Abuja.
Nigeria U23s manager Samson Siasia had earlier informed this website that the stopper is in his plans for the competition in Rio de Janeiro and will attend the training camp in the United States.
And strange rumours that appeared in the local media that Ekpolo has been axed from the squad were put to rest on Thursday morning when he was sighted at the team hotel having breakfast with the rest of the squad.
Samson Siasia is aware that the players have worked really hard since the start of the latest training camp and called off training this morning so they can recharge their batteries.
Ekpolo, who debuted for the Nigeria U23s against Brazil in March, will have his first training session with the squad on Thursday afternoon.
