Arsenal-Bound Nwakali Still Awaiting Nigeria U20s Coach, NFF Green Light
Published: June 23, 2016
Agent Allwell Nwakali has provided an update on the situation of Flying Eagles skipper, Kelechi Nwakali, who has agreed a five-year contract with Arsenal but has remained in his homeland due to national team commitments.
The ASJ/Diamond Academy midfielder and his entourage are on the mercy of the Nigeria Football Federation and coach Emmanuel Amuneke and need their consent before their trip to N7 7AJ.
“If coach Amuneke wants us to go to London today, we are ready to go. If he doesn’t we have to wait, everything is in his hands, ” said Allwell Nwakali to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“The most important thing is for the Flying Eagles to qualify for the 2017 Africa U20 Cup of Nations. ”
When Nigeria U20s coach Emmanuel Amuneke was questioned by this website if Nwakali will cut short his training with the national team to return to London, he refused to give a definite answer.
Nigeria’s U20 national team will tackle Sudan in the final round of the 2017 Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.
