Published: June 30, 2016
Speaking to Russian media, Ahmed Musa’s intermediary Tony Harris has confirmed that Ahmed Musa is set to depart CSKA Moscow before the close of the transfer window.
While the identity of a second club that made a bid for the services of the striker is a closely guarded secret, Leicester City were the first club that attempted to sign the Super Eagles assistant captain in the winter transfer market but were rebuffed.
“We are negotiating, but I can not yet name the clubs interested in the player. Let me just say one thing: the negotiations are in a positive manner. Move will soon be agreed, ” said Tony Harris to RIA Novosti.
Rumours that surfaced in the local media had claimed that Southampton were the mysterious club that made a bid for Ahmed Musa but that report has been dismissed by a top source close to the player.
The 23-year-old is back in Russia undergoing pre-season training with the Muscovites.
