Man City Whizkid Tosin Adarabioyo Turns Down Chance To Play For Nigeria
Published: July 10, 2016
Manchester City starlet Tosin Adarabioyo remains committed to England ahead of Nigeria at international level, having recently snubbed overtures from representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Born in England 18 years ago to Nigerian parents, the central defender has caps for England U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams but can still switch allegiance to the Super Eagles since he has not played competitively for the Three Lions.
Adarabioyo is one of the hottest prospects in English football at the moment and made his competitive debut for the Citizens last term, and was awarded the man-of-the-match by City after his imperious display in that game against Chelsea in the FA Cup.
“We have approached Tosin several times to play for Nigeria but I think he is very committed to his England experience now, ” says Team Nigeria UK chief David Doherty to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“However we are hopeful we will get a positive response from him soon as we are monitoring every progress of him.”
Tosin’s elder brother, Fisayo Adarabioyo, was called up for a training camp by Nigeria U23s coach Samson Siasia in December 2014, but the striker rejected his invitation.
