Ovie Ejaria Impresses Again As Liverpool Maintain 100 Percent Pre-season Record
Published: July 17, 2016
Liverpool maintained their one hundred percent pre-season record after securing a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Sunday evening.
There was a lot of Nigerian interest in this game, with ex-Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria and winger Sanmi Odelusi starting for their respective teams, while Portugal youth international Tiago Ilori hopped off the bench before the start of the second half.
Liverpool were the better team in the first half which ended goalless, and Ejaria had a chance to score his first senior goal when he attempted a shot from an acute angle in the 45th minute but it was smothered.
Playing in the center of midfield, the ex-Arsenal youth-teamer was impressive again with his trickery and pace.
Second half goals from Danny Ings and Ben Woodburn gave the Reds a victory over the Championship side.
