Chikatara Transfer To Wydad Still Hanging In The Balance After Super Eagles Snub
Published: July 18, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed Chisom Chikatara’s move from Abia Warriors to Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca has not been completed in transfer market parlance as the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has not yet approved the transfer.
With effect from the 2016-2017 season, foreign players signed by Moroccan clubs must have at least ten caps for their national teams or the U23s squad before they are allowed to feature in the League.
Based on this new law by the Moroccan FA, Chikatara does not meet the criteria to feature in the Botola Pro as he has played less than ten games for the Super Eagles and Olympic squad.
It is for this same reason that Gomo Onduku has not been officially unveiled by Wydad after penning a preliminary contract following a successful trial.
Unlike his case, Wydad are hoping they can circumvent the rule and have reserved a foreign player spot for Chikatara even before he traveled to Casablanca on Sunday.
