A unnamed English Premier League club made enquiries about the availability of Nigeria U23 international Junior Ajayi, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
Ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window, representatives of the Premier League team approached CS Safxien higher-ups and told them to name their asking price for the attacker.
But the Tunisian club played hardball during negotiations, insisting that they will only sell Ajayi if teammate Kingsley Sokari follows his compatriot to England.
The 20-year-old Ajayi is is looking for a move away from CS Sfaxien this summer and has been linked with Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
He would put himself in the shop window if he is included in Nigeria’s 18-man squad for the 2016 Olympic Games.
