Done Deal : Crotone Snatch Simeon Nwankwo From Under The Noses Of Portimonense
Published: July 21, 2016
Newly promoted Italian Serie A side Crotone have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo.
This has effectively ended transfer speculations surrounding the future of the lanky frontman, who was heavily courted by a plethora of teams in Europe after emerging top scorer of the Portuguese second-tier last season.
Portimonense S.C had claimed that they had wrapped up a deal for Nwankwo, but the player informed allnigeriasoccer.com that the transfer was hanging in the balance, adding that he had other options.
The 24-year-old started off his professional career with Portimonense before shifting to Gil Vicente, where he spent three seasons.
He scored 20 goals and provided five assists in 43 matches last season.
