Exclusive : Kelechi Nwakali Flies Out Of Lagos At 11 PM To Complete Arsenal Transfer
Published: July 31, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigeria U20 international Kelechi Nwakali is few details away from completing his long-awaited move to Arsenal.
It is confirmed that the central midfielder and his intermediary, Allwell Nwakali, will depart Owerri at 1700 hours before flying out of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja at 2300 hours on Sunday, July 31.
Upon their arrival at N7 7AJ on Monday, the deal will be concluded, with Kelechi Nwakali expected to commit his future to the Gunners until the summer of 2021.
Before agreeing terms with the Emirates outfit, manager Arsene Wenger promised the player and his reps that the club will do everything possible to secure a work permit for the 18-year-old, but it is a no-brainer that he will be shipped out on loan if his application is unsuccessful.
The ASJ/Diamond Academy product rose to prominence during the 2015 Fifa Under 17 World Cup, and was linked with possible moves to Ajax Amsterdam, Olympiakos, Sporting Lisbon, Man City and West Ham after the tourney in Chile.
