Leicester City Marquee Signing Musa Doubtful To Face Man Utd Due To Work Permit Issues
Published: August 05, 2016
Premier League champions Leicester City have not clinched a work permit for their “marquee signing” Ahmed Musa as at the time of writing this report, according to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com.
Thus, the Nigeria national-teamer might not make his competitive debut for the Foxes when they take on Manchester United in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
The Community Shield is viewed as a friendly by most teams in England, but is not considered so in the eyes of the English Football Association, and the irony is that more than three substitutes are allowed to get game time.
Top English FA sources, including Senior Communications Manager Anthony Snow, have informed allnigeriasoccer.com that Musa needs a work permit before he can face the Red Devils, but Snow added that he has to get clarification from his superiors.
The former CSKA Moscow striker endeared himself to the Leicester City faithful after bagging a brace against Barcelona in their last friendly.
Musa, 23, is hoping to be issued a work permit before the Premier League clash against Hull City on August 13.
