Germany coach Horst Hrubesch has played down suggestions that the Europeans are favourites in their clash with Nigeria at the Olympics on Wednesday.
Germany have improved as the competition goes on, winning their last two games against Fiji and Portugal after drawing their first two with Mexico and South Korea, scoring 19 goals in the process and conceding 5.
“Nigeria has a very good team , capable and physically strong . I do not they think they are underdogs . They are quality players. I think it will be a good game, ” said Hrubesch during Tuesday’s press conference.
“We played offensively , this is our feature . We are always willing to create . We have the quality and growing during the competition.
“We are an offensive team , we like to dominate the game in attack and create opportunities .”
