Exclusive : Nigeria U23 Striker Sadiq Umar Rejects Loan Move To Turkey
Published: August 17, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigeria U23 international Sadiq Umar has turned down a move to the Turkish Super Lig.
The lanky striker is displaying his wares at the ongoing Olympic Games, and has netted two goals in four appearances for the Dream Team in Brazil.
As the Roma starlet is not guaranteed first team opportunities in the new season, several clubs in Italy and overseas are exploring the possibility of snapping him up on a season-long loan deal.
Preliminary discussions between a representative of the Turkish club and Umar’s intermediary were not fruitful, with the agent stating that he would prefer his client to join a club in Holland, Spain or Germany.
In June, Sadiq Umar penned a four-year contract tying him to Roma until the summer of 2020.
