Published: August 22, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that a representative of English Premier League club Everton watched the Olympic bronze medal match between Nigeria and Honduras on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees scout was at the Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto to run the rule over Honduras attacker Alberth Elis, who has been linked with a move to Everton for the past one year.
Nigeria goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel prevented Elis from scoring his third goal of the competition in the eleventh minute, while William Troost-Ekong and Sincere Seth kept the striker at bay, especially in the second half.
FK Haugesund captain Troost-Ekong was linked with a couple of clubs in England before he penned a contract extension at Gent before the start of the Olympic Games.
Former Super Eagles stars Joseph Yobo, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Victor Anichebe previously represented Everton.
