Watford Ace Anya To Face Off Against Effiong As Scotland Name Squad For WCQ
Published: August 22, 2016
Watford star Ikechi Anya is poised to add to his international caps during the upcoming international break.
The versatile player has been named in Scotland’s 27-man roster for a World Cup qualifier against Malta at the National Stadium, Ta’Qali on Sunday 4th September.
Glasgow-born Anya has been invited by manager Gordon Strachan even though he has seen his first-team opportunities limited in the new season, with only nine minutes of game time for the Hornets after two rounds in the Premier League.
The wing-back had been eligible to wear the colours of Romania and Nigeria before he played competitively for Scotland.
Meanwhile, Balzan FC star Alfred Effiong is in Malta’s 20-man party for the game against Scotland.
