Published: August 28, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Oghenekaro Etebo is poised to play his first-ever game in the European top-flight in Sunday night’s clash between CD Feirense and Rio Ave.
The Nigeria U23 international is one of the nineteen players summoned by coach José Mota for the match at Estádio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube, a game which corresponds to the third round of matches in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Oghenekaro Etebo picked up a hamstring injury during the Dream Team’s match against Colombia, and had to miss games with Denmark, Germany and Honduras as a result of the ailment.
Upon his arrival in Portugal after starring at the 2016 Olympic Games, the attacking midfielder was involved in light training sessions before resuming full training with the first team on Wednesday, August 24.
Ex-Golden Eaglets netminder Dele Alampasu and Iduitua David are not in CD Feirense’s traveling party to Vila do Conde.
