Hungarian OTP Bank Liga club Debreceni VSC have completed the signing of Derick Chuka Ogbu from their Japanese counterparts Ventforet Kofu for a fee of 800,000 dollars, which is payable in four tranches.
The Nigerian frontman has appended his signature to a one-year contract, with the option for an additional one year inserted into the agreement between club and player.
Though Ogbu has not yet been handed a jersey number, he trained for the first time with his new teammates on Monday.
A product of Enugu Rangers, the 26-year-old started his career abroad with Umm Salal (Qatar), then joined OH Leuven and scored 18 goals for the Belgian club in the league before moving to CFR Cluj.
The striker joined Chinese club Liaoning Whowin in the summer of 2014.
