Arsenal Hero Kanu Targets Hat-trick Against Milan Defense Marshaled By Maldini, Desailly
Published: September 02, 2016
Retired Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu has responded to questions ahead of Saturday’s eagerly anticipated meeting between Arsenal Legends and Milan Glorie.
In aid of the Arsenal Foundation, the attacker will once again play for the Gunners tomorrow, twelve years after he last appeared for the club before he transferred to West Brom.
Asked by Deji Fayefunmi why he decided to bend his shot for his winner against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and what was going through his mind, Kanu replied : “Easy question, @DejiFayefunmi! There was only one thing in my mind and that was to score.”
On Alex Iwobi’s start to his career at Arsenal, the former number 25 said : “It’s been a while since I was flying the flag for ð³ð¬ here so I’m proud of him. He’s been great.”
Kanu will come up against some of the greatest defenders of all time in the history of football like Paulo Maldini, Cafu, Marcel Desailly and Alessandro Costacurta but still fancies his chances of scoring a hat-trick.
When asked how many goals he will score, Kanu answered : “It’s all about having fun for a good cause. That said, I reckon I could score three goals!”
