Iheanacho Tipped To Replace Aguero In Starting XI For Manchester United Clash
Published: September 05, 2016
Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho is being tipped to replace Sergio Aguero in the starting line-up when City face off against Manchester United in the Manchester derby on Saturday.
The Argentinian has been suspended for the Premier League clash at Old Trafford and two other games after an FA charge of violent conduct against him was found proven.
Previewing the fixture, the experts at Sky Sports reckon that Iheanacho would be the best player to replace Aguero.
“Iheanacho would be the closest thing to a straight swap having been a substitute under Guardiola in the Premier League so far, ’’ Adam Bate wrote.
“The young forward boasted the best goals-per-minute record in the league last season and deputised for Aguero against Steaua Bucharest.
“Whether it’s Iheanacho’s big moment, a false nine or some other tactical tweak, the challenge for Guardiola is to find the answer without Aguero.’’
Iheanacho, 19, has not started a Premier League game since May 15 when he lasted 72 minutes on the pitch against Swansea City.
