Kelechi Nwakali Trains With Arsenal First Team Ahead Of Southampton Clash
Published: September 07, 2016
Nigeria U20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali trained with the first team of Arsenal on Wednesday morning.
The 18-year-old is still awaiting the outcome of his work permit application before traveling to the Netherlands, where he will remain on loan at MVV Maastricht until the end of this season.
Though Nwakali has been registered for the Premier League, it is one hundred percent confirmed that he will not feature against Southampton this coming Saturday for the simple reason that he has not been granted a work permit by the UK authorities.
The good news for Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is that Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi has resumed full training and could play a part against the Saints.
MVV Maastricht stated on Tuesday that they hope to complete Nwakali’s paperwork this week.
