Anichebe, Asoro Not Involved For Sunderland As Lukaku Answers His Critics With 11-Minute Hat-Trick
Published: September 12, 2016
Four games into the season, Sunderland are struggling for Premier League safety following their 3-0 loss to Everton at the Stadium of Light on Monday night.
Super Eagles striker Victor Anichebe is still lacking match fitness and was not handed a debut by Black Cats manager David Moyes while Sweden U21 star Joel Asoro did not make the match day squad.
But there was still Nigerian interest in the game, with Ross Barkley named in the Toffees starting XI for the fourth straight game this term, before the attacking midfielder was replaced at half time.
After Lukaku opened scoring on the hour mark, Sunderland tried to get themselves into the game but it didn’t happen, with the Belgium international netting his second after a fabulous ball in by Bolasie.
The 23-year-old bagged his hat-trick with nineteen minutes left, running into space before finishing, after he was released by Mirallas.
