Official : Ex-Chelsea Defender & Nigeria U23 Trainee Joins Dover Athletic On Loan
Published: September 21, 2016
Through official channels, Eastleigh have announced that Nigerian defender Ayo Obileye has been farmed out on loan to Vanarama National League rivals Dover Athletic.
Due to his lack of playing opportunities at Eastleigh, Obileye will spend the next two months on loan at The Whites, with his parent club inserting a clause into the agreement that he can be recalled after 28 days if a 24-hour notice is provided.
Born in London to Nigerian parents 22 years ago, he played for the youth teams of Leyton Orient, Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday prior to signing his first professional contract with the Owls.
The stopper has also represented Charlton Athletic and had two loan spells at Dagenham & Redbridge while at SE7.
Ayo Obileye trained with the Nigerian U23 national team in April but was not included in the roster for the Olympic Games.
