A goal from Nigerian midfielder Tariq Uwakwe assisted Chelsea to register a 2-0 win over Reading in the U18 Premier League on Saturday.
Aside the goalscorer, two other Nigerian talents in the shape of Reading duo Akin Odimayo and Ade Shokunbi started today’s game at Cobham Training Centre (Stoke d’Abernon, Surrey).
Tariq Uwakwe finally broke the deadlock in the 70th minute, finishing off a move also involving Taylor-Crossdale, McEachran and Dasilva, before Brown rounded things off in the second minute of stoppage time.
It was an excellent week for Uwakwe, having made his debut for the English U18 National Team in their 2-1 win over Sweden in an international friendly staged at Tibblevallen, Täby on Sunday.
