Nigerian Messi & Adeyemo On The Mark For Watford U23 In Eight-Goal Thriller
Published: October 17, 2016
Watford U23s scored three goals but still lost an eight-goal thriller against Coventry City in the Professional Development League on Monday afternoon, October 17.
Former Nigeria U23 target Ola Adeyemo gave the Hornets a glimmer of hope when he reduced the deficit in the 38th minute, scrabbling home an effort after a lightning break, before he was replaced at half-time.
On 78 minutes, Ogo Obi, dubbed the Nigerian Messi, was on the mark for Watford, bundling home off an assist by Michael Folivi, to bring the scoreline to 5-2.
Devon Kelly-Evans, Jack Finch, Callum Maycock, Kyle Spence and Jack McBean were on target for the Sky Blues, who have now won six games on the bounce.
Watford return to action next Monday when they face Colchester United.
