Nigeria Superkid Iheanacho : I Came To Bring Life To Man City
Published: October 23, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho was delighted to score his 18th goal in a Manchester City shirt in their 1-1 draw with Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday, and admitted that his introduction sparked life into his team’s attack.
After falling 1-0 at the end of forty five minutes and looking for a reaction, Pep Guardiola’s second half substitution paid dividends, with the Nigeria international hitting target nine minutes after the restart.
“It’s just what I need to do as a football player, so I need to come in and bring life, ” Iheanacho told City’s official website in his post match comments.
“If I am starting or If I am coming in, ready to play and ready to go in there and run in the box, run everywhere get the ball.
“To bring life to the team, that’s what we need so that’s what I came in to do. ”
Iheanacho, 20, has netted six goals in total for club and country since the start of this season following his strike against the Saints at the Etihad Stadium.
