Moses Feeling At Home In New Role As Chelsea Record Fourth Win On The Spin
Published: October 30, 2016
Chelsea kept in touch with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League standings following their routine 2-0 win over Southampton in the South Coast on Sunday evening.
The Blues looked untroubled in the first half after opening scoring as early as the sixth minute through Belgium star Eden Hazard, who fired past goalkeeper Forster after Victor Moses directed the ball behind the defense.
In the 55th minute, Diego Costa doubled Chelsea’s lead, stylishly finishing from outside the box with Hazard providing the assist for the Spaniard’s eighth goal in the English top-flight.
Moses, 25, has made four consecutive starts in the Premier League and showed he’s comfortable in his new position at right fullback, and the work rate that he offered before he was substituted in the 87th minute was fantastic.
And he was unlucky not to add to his tally , with the Southampton goalkeeper preventing the Nigerian from scoring with his good hands, after he had earlier spilled his shot.
Victor Moses had three shots versus Southampton, the second most by a Chelsea player during the match.
